22. A cry of anguish. (There are some remarkable similarities in this psalm and the crucifixion of Jesus as told in the Book of Matthew. Also, I would like to know what circumstance David found himself in at the time he wrote this psalm.) David felt that God abandoned him and asked why? David expressed feelings of shame and unworthiness yet in spite of that God gave him life. David belonged to God before he was born. David felt afraid and vulnerable to the dangers he sensed all around him. His courage and strength were low. David spoke of intense thirst, of having his hands and feet pierced, and his garments being divided by lot among the gloating onlookers. David asked for God to stay near him and protect him. David praised God and knew that God takes care of those who suffer. People will always know God because he wills it.
23. The shepherd psalm. God knows what we need and will make sure we have it. In Him we'll find rest, protection and comfort. David knew that his life would be sweet and that he'd live with God forever.
24. Song to the King of glory. The earth and everything in it belongs to God. People who do and think good will be with the Lord. People who seek God shall be saved.
Tomorrow read Psalms 24:7-27:6
