114. God’s Deliverance of Israel from Egypt. When Israel came out of Egypt, Judah became God’s holy place and He ruled over Israel. The Red Sea parted (Exodus 14:21) and the Jordan River stopped (Joshua 3:13) the mountains skipped like rams. Why did the sea go away? Why did the Jordan River flow backwards? Why did the mountains skip like rams? The earth trembles at the presence of God. He commands and the earth obeys.
115. The Lord Deserves to be Praised. Nobody but God deserves praise. Unbelievers ask “Where is your God?” He is in heaven doing whatever he wishes. Their idols are made of gold and silver. They have mouths and eyes, but they cannot hear or speak. They have noses, but they cannot smell. They can’t feel with their hands or move their legs. They can’t make a sound. The people who made the idols and trust them are as helpless as those useless chunks of metal. People of Israel must trust God for help and protection. All who worship God will receive His blessing, no matter who they are. May your descendants always grow strong. May the God creator of heaven and earth give you His blessing. The Lord has kept the heavens for himself, but He has given us the earth. The dead cannot praise God, but the living can. Shout praises to God!
116. Deliverance from Death. I love you Lord. You heard my prayers and answered them and saved me. I will pray to you as long as I live. Death was everywhere; I thought I was a goner. When I was hurting badly, I said “God please don’t let me die!” and You protected me. You protect ordinary people and You saved me so I don’t need to worry anymore. You were right there for me, I didn’t mean it when I said “I can’t trust anyone.” How can I ever repay You, Lord? A drink offering? Prayers? I know You care deeply when one of Your loyal people faces death. I worship You Lord, just as my mother taught me. You have saved me from death and I will offer a sacrifice to show how grateful I am, and I will pray. I will keep my promise to You. Shout praises to the Lord!
117. Praise God. Everyone on earth praise God. Great is his love for us. His faithfulness endures forever. Praise the Lord.
118. The Lord’s Mercy. God’s love is everlasting. Tell God how grateful you are for His kindness and mercy. Let everyone say, “His love endures forever.” God’s got your back what is there to fear? He is there to help you. It is better to trust the Lord for protection than anyone else.
Tomorrow read Psalms 118:10-119:40
