65. God's Abundant Favor to Earth and Man. Silent reflection gives way to joyful praise to God. He hears our prayers and answers them. Even though we are overcome by our sins, God forgives. David was grateful for the blessings God gave to His chosen ones who lived near the temple. God does things that terrify the wicked and cause the righteous to sing praises to Him. God gives hope to everyone all over the earth. People are afraid of nature's awesome power - signs of God's presence. God visits the earth and creates abundance of water, grain and flocks in the meadows. The earth shouts for joy!
66. God's Power and Works. Shout with joy and praise God! Tell God that everything He does is awesome! God's enemies reluctantly obey Him. The earth sings praises to God. Come and see what God has done, he dried the sea so people could walk across on dry land. He sees everything. Praise God loudly so it can be heard. God kept them alive, though He tested and refined them, and brought them to a place of abundance. David promised to come to the temple and fulfill his vows to God. Vows he spoke when he was in trouble. (Been there, done that.) David promised to make offerings to God. David gave thanks to God for his answered prayers and love.
67. Tell the Nations to Praise God. David asked God to bless them and make His face shine upon them. He hoped everyone on the earth would know God and praise Him. He wished that all the nations would be glad and sing for joy because God rules the people justly. The land would yield it's harvest and God would bless them.
68. The God of Israel. David hoped that God would arise and cause his enemies to flee - like smoke in the wind may they be blown away. As wax melts in fire, so the wicked would perish before God. The righteous would be glad and rejoice because of God. Be happy and joyful and sing to God, praise His name.
Tomorrow read Psalms 68:5-69:4
