105. Continued. He caused the Egyptians to hate them and God sent them Moses and Aaron, who performed miraculous signs so they would know God had sent them. He sent darkness because they had rebelled against His word, He turned the waters into blood and all the fish died. He covered the land with frogs – they were even inside people’s houses. Then he sent swarms of flies and gnats. He turned rain into hail with lightning and destroyed all the vines and fig trees and broke all the other trees to pieces. Then He spoke and locusts and grasshoppers came and ate every green thing there was. Then God took the life of every first-born. Then they left and Egypt sent them with much gold and silver, they were glad to see them go. God led them in a cloud which looked like fire at night. When they asked for food God sent more birds than they could eat. God even split a rock and fresh water gushed out into the desert. God remembered His promise to Abraham; He brought his children to the land of their inheritance. All He asked was that they keep His commandments. Praise the Lord.
106. The Lord’s Goodness to Men. Give thanks to God, his love endures forever. God blesses those who honor Him by doing what is right. David remembered the journey of the Israelites as they wandered in the desert. He compared his generation to that of his ancestors. They had both sinned by not appreciating the miracles which God performed on their behalf. Over and over God saved the children of Israel and answered their prayers, but they were never grateful enough to simply obey God. Even the gifts from God weren’t good enough for them – and He gave them everything they asked for!
Tomorrow read Psalms 106:34-107:38
