24. Continued. This next part sounds like the chorus of a song to me as David told the gates to open to the Lord, the King of glory, so He could come in.
25. Prayer for guidance and protection. David trusted God and depended on Him for help with his enemies. David asked God not to shame him because he loved and trusted Him. David also asked for guidance from God to show him the paths God wanted him to take. He asked forgiveness for his sins and asked that God remember him in love. To those who love Him and obey his commandements, God's ways are good. David knew that He could depend on God. David asked for protection from his enemies and ease from his worries, fears and anguish. David asked God to redeem Israel from their troubles as well.
26. The basis of judgement. David justified himself by listing the ways he followed the commandments God. He asked God to test and try him and see if he didn't pass the test. He did not hang out with deceitful people or hypocrites. He didn't approve of wicked people and their actions. He worshiped God and rejoiced in the temple. David asked God not to treat him like a sinner and take away his life. David obeyed God's commandments and he intended to continuing to do so.
27. David's song of fearless trust in God. With God on his side, David didn't fear anyone. No matter what enemy attacked, he knew God was on his side and would protect him. David wanted one thing: to live in God's house all his life and seek Him in the temple. David knew God would protect him and he would sing praises to God.
Tomorrow read Psalms 27:7-31:5
