35. Continued. David prays for God to be with him and defend him against his enemies. David wanted his enemies defeated and his supporters glad for his success. He declared he would praise God all day long.
36. Wickedness confronts God's love. The wicked person does not know or fear God. He flatters himself so much that he cannot recognize his sin or change his choices. His words are lies and betrayal. He continually seeks evil.
God's love is greater that the greatest thing we can imagine. It is there for all who seek it, no matter what their situation in life. We feast on the abundance of God's love. God's love is the fountain of life. We see light in God's light. David asked for God to continue to love those who know God, and drive the wicked away.
37. Blessings to the righteous. Evil men will pass away. Simply trust that God will take care of you and lay your worries on Him. Do what the Lord wants and he will give you your heart's desire. Commit to Him and trust Him and He will do this. It will become clear as noonday to you that you are on the right path. Be patient, don't get discouraged when you see wicked people succeeding. Don't let your anger cause you to sin. Trust God. Wicked and merciless people hurt good people, but remember what goes around comes around. They will receive what they give out. "It is better to live right and be poor than to be sinful and rich." God will empower the faithful and the wicked will be made weak. God takes care of those who love Him. If you do what the Lord wants He will help you. You may stumble, but you won't crash and burn. David recalls that good people have never been left helpless, their children have never had to beg for food. Those who love God gladly take care of each other.
Tomorrow read Psalms 37:27-39:13
