July 16, 2010 Psalms 119:41-96

Waw Salvation through God’s Law
May Your love and salvation come to me as You promised, then I will have an answer for those who insult me for trusting the Lord. I trust You, don’t take away my chance to speak Your truth. I will obey Your law forever and ever. I am free because I have followed Your law. I will speak of Your law to kings and not be ashamed because I love Your commandments; they make me happy. I lift up my hands to Your law which I love and contemplate.

Zayin Comfort in God’s Law
Don’t forget Your promise to me, I depend on it. Your promise comforts me when I am hurting. Conceited people mock me, but I obey Your law. I remember Your ancient laws and they comfort me. When people forsake You, I burn with anger. Wherever I go, I am inspired with songs from Your teachings. At night I think about You, and keep Your law. These gifts are mine because I followed Your precepts.

Heth The Lord our Portion
The Lord is my portion and I have promised to obey Him. I sought You with all my heart; be kind to me as You promised. I pay attention to what You say and I am quick to follow You. Evil people may try to set me up, but I will obey You. In the middle of the night I wake up to give You thanks. I am friends with people who honor You. The earth is full of Your love; teach me Your laws.

Teth God’s law taught by affliction
You have been kind to me just as You promised. Give me wisdom and good judgment; I trust You. Once You corrected me when I needed it, now I obey Your word. You are kind and good; teach me Your ways. Wicked people tell lies about me, but I just follow Your teachings with all my heart. Their hearts do not feel, but I find happiness in your law. When You punished me it did me good because I learned Your law. The earth is filled with Your love; Your law is worth more than silver and gold.

Yodh Confidence in the Law
You made me with Your hands, give me understanding of Your commands. When other worshipers see me they will be glad because I trust You. I know you were right to punish me; Your decisions are right. I am Your servant, give me comfort as You promised. May those conceited people who sneer at me for obeying Your law be shamed. May all who understand Your law turn to me. May I keep Your laws so I will not be ashamed.

Kaph A Longing for Comfort
My soul longs for Your salvation, my hope is in Your word. My eyes grow weak from looking for your promise, I wonder when You will comfort me. My life is drying up like a dehydrated wineskin, I remember Your commands. How long will I wait before You punish my enemies? Those proud people dig pits for me to fall in, when will You punish them. Your laws can be trusted! Protect me from those cruel liars who try to destroy me. They almost beat me, but I remember Your precepts. Save my life and I will obey You.

Lamedh God’s Unchangeable Law
Your word is eternal and stands firm in the heavens. You are faithful to all generations; the earth You created stands firm. Everything bends to Your will; Your laws are still in effect. If obeying You didn’t make me happy, I would have died in misery. I will always obey Your teachings because I feel renewed by them. I am Yours, I have respected Your laws, so keep me safe. Evil people wait to destroy me; I will follow Your rules. Nothing is completely perfect except Your teachings.
